Clay's 5.6.7.8's Wav Page

I'm not going to get into a major critique of Kill Bill Vol. 1. There's lots of sentiment on both sides of the "good or bad" question. If you realize that it is just an Anime cartoon come to life, you'll understand it. It's not supposed to be real. I liked it because Quentin, being Quentin, went weird again and mixed film stock, B/W and color, animation, and appropriate music for another strange ride.

On to the point of this page-- In the movie, at the House Of Blue Leaves (where The Bride whipped out her blade on Go-Go and the Crazy 88) there was a Japanese girl band playing called the 5.6.7.8's. They put out a lot of noise for just a trio, and I'd never heard of them before. The 5.6.7.8's have an off-beat 60's surfer/80's punk-sound going on. Mix that with the phonetic English lyrics they use (Hey, how many American bands try Japanese lyrics?) and you have a unique sound indeed. I looked them up and found that they are a real band that has been around since the 1980's. Among other releases, they have produced seven albums! But, like the movie itself, this band is probably of limited interest, although I'm sure their sales will go sky high now that they've shown up in KB V1. Their Web site is at The 5.6.7.8's and some of their music can be bought at Amazon.

This Web page is really just for me and my friends, but I figured I'd give a public link to it just in case some strangers thought as I do. If you don't like the band I've described; bitchin', just go elsewhere now rather than complain that I offered you music you didn't like. If anyone I don't know finds this page, and likes this stuff, please let me know. These files are not CD quality (on purpose). If you like their offerings here, BUY their full quality stuff.
